How a clerk/non-barrister can create an invoice/fee note in BarBooks for Chambers
The guide and video below, will walk you through how to create and Invoice. (Fee Note)- Navigate to the Matters tab on the side bar.
- Select the relevant Matter.
- Click on the Invoices sub tab.
- Select “New Invoice”.
- Follow Each stage of the Invoicing process.
- Select the appropriate Barrister.
- Select the Tasks you want to include.
- Select the Expenses you want to include.
- You will now be able to view a Summary of the Invoice.
- Select the “Enable invoice approval workflow” in order to automatically send a request to the barrister to approve the invoice. Once approved, the invoice will automatically be created.
- Select Download and choose the appropriate Template as well as the file format.
- Select “Create”.
- The Invoice will now appear within the Invoices sub tab with the status “Unpaid” or "Pending for Approval" should you have enabled the approval workflow.
- The document will be downloaded to your computer but can be found within the documents sub tab within the Matter or within the documents sub tab within the invoice.
- You can also find and create an Invoice through the Invoice tab on the side bar.
- Select “New Invoice”.
- Select the relevant Matter and follow the same process as described.
